All About Me

Welcome to Sterling's Snippets: A Day in the Life of 1st Grade.  My name is Sandra Sterling and I am a mom, teacher and blogger!  I teach 1st Grade at Washington Elementary School in Fargo, North Dakota.  This will be my thirteenth year in education.  I have also served as an Elementary Library Media Specialist and taught kindergarten for Fargo Public Schools.  Prior to working for the Fargo Public Schools, I taught pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and remedial reading at Holy Spirit Elementary School,  in Fargo, North Dakota.

I graduated from South Dakota State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education.  In 2013, I graduated from Valley City State University with an M.Ed. in Library and Information Technology to expand my education and learn more about information technology and 21st Century Skills.

On a personal note, I am married to a wonderful husband, Eric, who works in marketing at RDO Equipment Co. in Moorhead. Eric and I are both from South Dakota but made Fargo-Moorhead our home in 2006.  We have two, great boys that keep us busy at home.  Carson is almost 9 and will begin 3rd Grade this fall and Cameron is almost 6 and will attend kindergarten this fall.
