Congratulations 2nd Graders!

Another year has come to a close and another class of 1st graders is on the way to a bright future.  It has truly been a blessing teaching your children at Washington Elementary School.  As they grow and learn, I continue to grow and evolve as a classroom teacher.  Their job as students is just as important as mine as a teacher.  Take time to celebrate with your little ones in the coming days.  They have worked so very hard this year and have accomplished so much.  I can't wait to see them next year when they are 2nd graders in the hallways.  I'm hoping for lots of hugs and high fives!  For now, enjoy a few photos from the last couple of days of school!

We enjoyed the PTA sponsored bowling trip to Red River Lanes again this year.  It is such a great opportunity to not only celebrate but also to practice some bowling skills.  The students came home with a little card from Red River Lanes to sign up for Kids Bowl Free.  I can't say enough about this program.  My family has been utilizing it for a few years in the summer.  Who doesn't love free bowling in the summer?  It makes a great rainy day activity!

The last day of school also called for the Candy Awards in first grade.  I have so much fun finding the perfect candy bar to match the students' personalities! The anticipation is so fun as they listen and wait patiently for their name to be called.  Each student proudly walks down the red carpet to receive their award with a huge round of applause.

A quick reminder that you can download your student's content on Seesaw as the year comes to a close.  As a teacher, I cannot see the parent portal and do not have access to do this, so I am hoping this works as this was my first year using Seesaw.  Follow instructions here via the Seesaw help page.

Thank you again for an amazing year of 1st grade!
